Weyburn Terrace and Hilgard Contract & Payment Information
After accepting the housing offer on line, the charges for the housing contract will appear on the student’s BruinBill account. The housing offer details the total costs and payments for the room/building offer.
- Plan A (MONTHLY) requires an initial payment by the due date stated in the offer. Future installments are due the first of the month as stated in the Housing Offer.
Options for Financial Aid Recipients
Financial aid recipients who plan to use disbursements during the academic year to make housing payments, but who are unable to make monthly payments solely due to the timing of those disbursements (i.e. where financial aid is not disbursed until after housing payments are due), should accept the offer by choosing (monthly) Payment Plan A and making the initial payment. Then the student may contact Housing Services through the Ask Housing web site (http://ask.housing.ucla.edu) to explore alternative payment arrangements for the balance of the contract.
Payment Due Date
The initial installment must be paid on the student’s BruinBill account by the due date stated on the housing offer. If the initial payment is not received prior to the due date, the student’s housing offer will be canceled.
Note: By accepting the Housing offer and making the initial payment, the student enters into a binding legal contract for the entire academic year. The student will be obligated to make all payments according to the selected payment schedule, whether or not the student checks into the room.
Forms of Payment
The payment for the initial housing installment, as well as all future housing installments, is made to the student’s BruinBill account. Payments made with VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express are charged a 2.75% transaction fee, but students also may select the eCheck option, available free of charge, to make payments from a bank account.
Terminating Your Contract
If, after accepting a housing offer and making the initial payment, the student wishes to terminate his/her housing contract, a request to terminate the contract may be submitted by email using Ask Housing. A $400 contract termination fee will be charged for all contract cancellation requests. Contract cancellation requests must be received prior to 4 p.m. on the last business day prior to the start date of the contract. Requests for contract cancellations received on or after the start date of the contract are subject to an appeal process and are not guaranteed to be approved. If approved, the appropriate cancellation fee will be charged. For further information, refer to your housing contract, or contact Housing Services at http://ask.housing.ucla.edu.
