Room Sign-up Process Workshop
Returning to University Housing Q & A
What is Room Sign Up (RSU)?
2023-2024 academic year rates are now available!
Please note, beginning in winter 2024, Gayley Towers will be under construction. If you are living in Landfair Vista, there may be noise impacts from the construction.
UCLA Housing Room Sign Up (RSU) is an online process that provides eligible returning undergraduate residents the opportunity to select their housing for the next academic year. All eligible students interested in housing for the 2023-2024 academic year must submit their application and participate in RSU in order to receive a housing offer. Students who do not select a room during RSU will not be extended a housing offer.
We will be hosting a webinar about the application and RSU process on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Check back here for the link to attend live or view the recording once complete.
Your specific Room Sign Up time will be emailed to you after the application deadline.
Roommate groups must be formed by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday, February 28.
By forming a roommate group, you will be eligible to participate in Early Room Sign Up.Please see our step-by-step roommate group guide for more information on how to form a roommate group.
March 9:Main RSU for all students who don't participate in Early RSU
March 10:Open RSU for all students
During Room Sign Up, you (or your group leader if you have a roommate group) will enter the RSU portal and select the exact building and room for yourself, or your group.
If you do not form a roommate group, you still need to select your room during Main RSU. You will not be offered housing for next year, if you do not select a room during RSU.
Please see our step-by-step instructions on the RSU process or view the Zoom recording above for more assistance.
• If students have formed a gender inclusive roommate group, once their timeslot has begun, the group leader will need to either come in person to the Housing Services Office, or LiveChat to select the building and room for their group.
• If you do not form a roommate group, you will still need to come in person or LiveChat during Main RSU to select your space for the academic year.
• Any building or room can be selected, but please note that if your roommate group does not fill the entire room, suite, or unit, any other student who has selected gender inclusive housing, regardless of gender, can select the open space. If an open space remains after RSU, Housing Services will assign another student who requested gender inclusive housing to the space.
Because our housing portal system operates on a binary, in order to allow non-binary students who have not selected gender inclusive housing the widest variety of options, students will need to work with a Housing Services representative to select their room during RSU.
