About the Wi-Fi networks on the Hill

There are four different Wi-Fi networks available for use on the Hill. Not all devices can be connected to a given network due to performance and/or security concerns. Please reference the list below to determine which device types can be used with each network.

Amazon Alexa/Echo/Dot, Google Nest Speaker, Wireless LED Lights, Wireless Power Strips/Plugs

 

Smart TVs

LG, Samsung, Sony, TCL, Vizio

UCLA_ WEB (No Log-in)

 

1. Open unencrypted network 
2. Available on campus and on the Hill

Best for: Streaming Apps, Computers, Phones and Tablets, Streaming Devices, Game Consoles, Home Automation, Smart TVs

 

Eduroam (Username: BOL@ucla.edu password: MyUCLA password)

 

 

 

1. Encrypted network 
2. Only requires single log-in 
3. Fastest Network
4. Available on campus and the Hill

Best for: Streaming Apps, Computers, Phones, and Tablets

 

UCLA_WIFI (Username: BOL Password: MyUCLA password)

 

 

 

1. Encrypted network
2. Requires a sign-in every 15-30 minutes 
3. Available on campus and the Hill 

Best for: Streaming Apps, Computers, Phones and Tablets

 

UCLA_RES_IOT (No username, Password: Set-up from Registration Page)

 

1. Devices without a user interface 
2. Users can "white-list" their device here 
3. Only on the Hill 

Best for: Streaming Devices, Game Consoles, Home Automation, Smart TVs, Other IOT devices 

Note: Google Chromecast (any generation), Robot Vacuums, and some smart plugs are not compatible with Campus networks
