On-Campus Housing Resident Meal Plans
Meal plans are included in the on-campus housing contract rate for residents. Meal plans are selected at the time you accept your housing offer and make your initial contract payment. You may change your selected meal plan at any time during the school year by submitting a request using the "Ask A Question" tab at the Ask Housing web site. There is a $25 fee to change a meal plan, unless the request is received prior to 4:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of September.
When choosing your meal plan, you should consider your class and work schedule, as well as the times of day you will be near the residence halls to eat conveniently. You may also want to consider the following questions: Is it common for me to commute home every weekend? Are my classes scheduled for most of the day? If so, you may want to explore other dining options available to you when you are gone over the weekends or on-campus during the day. Please Note: In accordance with On-Campus Housing regulations, UCLA housing is provided exclusively for residents and their authorized guests. Resident hosts are expected to be present with their guests at all times, including while dining in the restaurants. Allowing a person entrance into a building and leaving them unattended is prohibited. Residents are fully responsible for the conduct of their guests and for informing them of University rules and On-Campus Housing regulations. Thank you for your cooperation.
Meal plan options for On-Campus Housing Residents:
Bruin Premier 19
This is our most flexible meal plan. It offers a preset number of meals at the beginning of each academic quarter. Unused meals carry over from week to week and can be used at any time during the quarter for extra meals and snacks for you, your friends, or family. All meals must be used by the end of the quarter. You should monitor your meal usage to ensure that you have enough meals through the end of each quarter.
Our most cost-effective plan, the Gold 19, is designed for students who wish to eat in the residential dining facilities most of the time. This plan provides for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Monday through Friday, as well as for brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. Unlike the Bruin Premier 19, meals not eaten during the week cannot be accumulated or saved and do not carry over from week to week. Gold 19 allows only one entry per designated meal period.
Bear Premier 14
This plan provides the same flexibility as Bruin Premier 19, but it is designed for residents who generally go home on the weekends or who prefer to skip breakfast. The same carry-over privilege with Bruin Premier 19 also applies to Bear Premier 14.
This plan provides 14 meals per week. Meals that are not eaten during the week cannot be accumulated or saved. The Blue 14 allows only one entry per designated meal period.
This is our most basic plan for students who are not on campus during weekends or for those who eat only two meals a day. As with the Gold 19 and Blue 14, meals that are not eaten during the week cannot be accumulated or saved. Cub 11 allows only one entry per designated meal period.
Non-Resident Meal Plans
Students living off campus, who are currently enrolled for the quarter, may select from our four different meal plans. Dining Services offer the Non-Resident Blue 14, the Non-Resident Cub 10, Non-Resident 7, and the Non-Resident 5. These non-resident meal plans do not allow for multiple 'swipes' in a meal period and unused meals do not carry forward each week. Students may eat in any of the Residential Restaurants and Quick-service Restaurants: Bruin Plate, Covel Commons, De Neve, FEAST at Rieber, The Study at Hedrick, Bruin Café, Café 1919, and Rendezvous. These meal plans are not valid in ASUCLA facilities. Meal plans are purchased for an entire quarter and are non-transferable. Non-resident meal plans may be canceled with a $25 processing fee and the prorated balance will be refunded. Non-resident meal plans may also be upgraded or downgraded with $25 processing fee. Students purchasing a non-resident meal plan after the start of the quarter will pay a prorated amount based on the remaining days left in the quarter. Currently the online non-resident meal plan application is not available. To purchase a meal plan, please come in to the Housing Services Office located on the ground floor of Sproul Hall (Housing Administration). In-person payments must be made with cash or check. We apologize for this inconvenience.
Meal plan options for non-residents:
Non-Resident Blue 14
This plan provides the same flexibility as Blue 14. Meals that are not eaten during the week do not rollover to following weeks, and there is only one entry per designated meal period.
Non-Resident Cub 10
This plan provides the same flexibility as Cub 14. Meals that are not eaten during the week do not rollover to following weeks, and there is only one entry per designated meal period.
This plan allows off-campus non-residents to eat seven meals every week in any of the on-campus Residential Restaurants or Quick-Service Restaurants. Meals that are not eaten during the week do not rollover to following weeks, and there is only one entry per designated meal period.
This plan allows off-campus non-residents to eat five meals every week in any of the on-campus Residential Restaurants or Quick-Service Restaurants. Meals that are not eaten during the week do not rollover to following weeks, and there is only one entry per designated meal period.
