What to Bring - What Not to Bring to University Apartments for Graduate & Family Students

Alternative text needed

What to Bring

Your apartment has a full kitchen including stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher, but is not otherwise furnished (with the exception of Clarington). Units in University Village and Keystone/Mentone have microwaves as well. Each complex has its own coin/BruinCard-operated laundry facilities. You will need to bring your dishes, utensils, pots and pans, toaster, and other small appliances; cleaning equipment, such as a vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies; laundry supplies; towels and toiletries; and electronics such as a telephone and television. You will also need to provide your own linens.

What Not to Bring

Do not bring your own appliances, including mini-refrigerators, washers, or clothes dryers.

Pets or other animals are strictly prohibited in all University Housing. Service/Assistive Animals are accommodated with approval from the Center for Accessible Education (CAE) which must be acquired prior to your arrival. Follow this link to begin the application process with CAE. If you are a UCLA student and need to register with CAE, please call (310) 825-1501 or stop by to make an appointment to meet with a disability specialist. If you are unsure if you qualify, CAE will explore the issues with you and make recommendations. To register with CAE, students fill out a general information form and provide current documentation of their disability/medical condition. All services provided by CAE are free of charge and information is kept strictly confidential.

Utilities

The University pays for water, trash removal, basic cable television, and high-speed Internet service. All other utilities are the responsibility of the tenant, including initiating service and payment of bills. An exception exists at University Village where the University pays for the gas. NOTE: Utility companies require 2-4 days' notice and a deposit before turning on service.
