Apartment Resident Assistants (ARA) are full-time students who work part-time for Residential Life. ARAs are responsible for the administration and implementation of the community development and student support program in University Apartments. ARA’s foster and develop community among residents, counsel residents regarding problems or concerns and provide resource and referral information, and implement programs to meet departmental goals. In addition, ARA’s enforce Housing and University regulations, and document any resident concerns and provide duty coverage for off campus housing community from 8:00pm to 7:00am daily. ARA’s are committed to maintaining the safety and general well-being of residents. They can often find the best way to help you get something done or explain policies and procedures. There is an ARA designated to your area to respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls. If you experience a life threatening emergency, please call University of California Police Department (UCPD) at (310) 825-1491 immediately.
